Jin, McMyler meet in Finals at the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur 

BEE CAVE – No. 6 seeded Grace Jin of Huntsville and No. 8 Emma McMyler of San Antonio will face off in the final of the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur.  

Jin, a rising sophomore at Sam Houston State University would kick off her quarterfinal matchup against No.3 seed Veronika Exposito of The Woodlands. Jin would go 1 UP early and hold that lead in the match going into the back nine. Jin would lose No.10 but gain it right back on No. 11 and No.12. From there, Jin would march herself into the semifinals winning 4&3.

LJT Collegiate Preview set for June 24-25 

ADDISON – The Legends Junior Tour Collegiate Preview will make its debut at Gus Wortham Park Golf Course, marking the first time in the tournament’s history that it will be held at this venue. Scheduled for June 24-25, it is the only LJT event featuring 36 holes in the First Round.

ADDISON – The 12th edition of the Flodder Financial Shootout will take place from June 17-18. The Legends Junior Tour event will return to Falcon Point Golf Club for the seventh consecutive year.

Colton, Harper tied for lead after Round Two of the 25th Veritex Bank Byron Nelson Junior Championship

DALLAS — Luke Colton of Frisco and Brooks Harper of Dallas finished Round 2 tied for the lead at 9-under 133. Colton, coming off a strong round one, finished with a 4-under 67, while Harper finished with a 5-under 66.

“It was a good round,” shared Colton. “I had to scramble a bit more than yesterday, but I was able to put together a good score by making a few putts.”

Colton, continuing his strong scoring after round one, finished with a 67 that included only one bogey in the whole round.

“I am just going to keep the same routine,” shared the Wakeland High School junior. “Get a good night’s rest and head out here tomorrow and hopefully play well.”

DALLAS – Luke Colton of Frisco leads after Round 1 at the 25th Veritex Bank Byron Nelson Junior Championship. The junior fired a 5-under 66 to kick off the second major for the boys on the LJT schedule.

“I feel good,” shared Colton. “I played pretty well and left a few shots out there, but overall, it’s a good start to the tournament.”

Colton showcased his skill by going bogey-free through seventeen holes, including six birdies. On No. 18, Colton missed a putt a few inches short, scoring his only bogey of the day. Despite tough weather conditions at the start of the round, Colton remained unfazed, going 2-under on the front nine.

Granbury’s DeCordova Bend Country Club goes back-to-back as champions of Texas League Play. The club defeated Barton Creek Country Club 11.5 to 0.5 during Sunday’s Championship matches. Since the inception of Texas League Play in 2006, this will be the fifth time that DeCordova Bend CC will claim top honors to this unique team four-ball format.

The sun rose on Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Bee Cave for the final match day of the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur. In her first time competing in the championship, Jin won 5 matches on the way to becoming the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur Champion joining an elite list of champions.
