An annual stop on our event calendar and one of our favorites.  Regularly named among the top country clubs in Dallas-Fort Worth by Avid Golfer, Trophy Club is proud to be the home of two world-class golf courses, and legendary LPGA golfer and Golf Hall of Fame Member, Kathy Whitworth. The Club houses the majority of Kathy’s trophies from her 88 tour victories, and she still holds the record for the most tour victories by any professional golfer, male or female. The Club At Sonterra features two 18-hole championship golf courses, which offer unique settings and challenges: North and South Course(s). Designed by Bruce Devlin & Robert von Hagge and built in 1985, the North Course has rolling hills as far as the eye can see with beautiful 419 Bermuda fairways, Mini Verde greens and beautiful waterfalls. The South Course appeals to the traditional golfer; a Press Maxwell design, built in 1954, among acres upon acres of large oak trees, with its Tif-Eagle Super Dwarf Bermuda greens and heavily tree lined Bermuda fairways.

The Canyons course is fresh off a complete bunker renovation in 2022.  Due to the differing topography, the Pete Dye-designed Canyons course, paired with Greg Norman’s Oaks course, respectively complement one another with each course encompassing their own unique look, feel and playing experience for both Members and resort guests to enjoy. While very different from the traditional, tree-lined Oaks course, the Canyons course stands on its own as a tournament venue in terms of design, strategy, and hill country beauty. The course played host to PGA TOUR Champions San Antonio Championship from 2011-2015.

Once again, you get the chance to play the tournament course just a few weeks (23 days actually) before the pros. Home of the Texas Valero Open (March 30th-April 5th, 2026), TPC San Antonio opened in January, 2010 with two 18-hole championship golf courses designed by two of golf’s most innovative architects: Pete Dye and Greg Norman.  Both courses have played host to Tour events with The Oaks course serving as the venue for the PGA Tour’s Valero Texas Open since 2010. The Canyons course was the site of the San Antonio Championship, a PGA Tour Champions event.

Hackberry Creek Country Club’s 18 hole championship golf course was co-designed by architect Joe Finger and golf legend Byron Nelson and opened in 1985.  Featuring 7,013 yards of Bermuda grass, this Irving golf course offers terrific views and challenging play for golfers at every level.  With its rolling hills, typical to the Irving area, the recently updated course offers mini verde greens, premium Arkansas white sand bunkers, and beautiful water features that promise a challenging game each time you play.
