Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: June 5, 2024 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close / Withdraw Deadline: July 17, 2024 at 5:00 PM
Division Change Deadline: July 24, 2024 at 5:00 PM

Entry Fee: $480 per team

Eligibility: Entries are open to female amateur golfers with a certified WHS Handicap Index. Please reference TGA Women’s Competition Policies for further details, including policies and procedures, and terms of competition.

Entry Procedure: The field will be established in the order in which entries are received. In the event the championship becomes over-subscribed, acceptance of entries will be based on the lowest combined team WHS Handicap Index as of Wednesday, July 17. HANDICAP POLICY: If a partnership has a handicap difference of more than 8 strokes, the higher handicap will be adjusted down to create an 8-stroke difference. For example, if a partnership has a 12 and a 22, we will adjust it 12 and 20 for the event. July 17 handicap index will be used.

Championship Information

Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 36 Holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play. The field is limited to 50 teams.

Divisions: The field will be split up into two divisions; Championship and Flights. The ten (10) teams with the lowest combined handicap indexes will be required to play from the championship tees. Those who do not wish to play in the championship division will be pre-flighted based on their combined handicap indexes. The maximum spread of partners’ index of 8.0 will be used for the purpose of creating flights.

The deadline to change division is Wednesday, July 24 at 5:00 PM.

Practice Round Information: Each team is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round at Oakmont Country Club on Sunday, July 28 beginning at 12:00 PM. Starting from TBD, players must contract the host club golf shop at (940) 321-5599 to schedule their practice round and should identify themselves as 2024 Women’s Four-Ball participants.

Registration Information: Player registration will be held Sunday, July 28th between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM. If a player cannot make registration, she must notify a TGA official that she is unable to make the registration deadline but will be competing in the championship.

Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting times and pairings for the first round will be made available online at www.txga.org no later than Friday, July 26 at 5:00 PM. Final Round starting times and pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.txga.org.

Caddies: Caddies are NOT permitted during the championship.

Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Prior to the entry deadline players looking to withdraw should do so online through their Golf Genius user profile or by contacting the TGA Staff Contact directly. After the entry deadline has passed players should either call the Texas Golf Association at (214) 468-8942 or email the TGA Staff Contact directly. Only withdrawals on the day of the competition should be directed to the host club golf shop.

Transportation: Players are encouraged to ride carts during all championship rounds. Cart fees are included in the players entry fee. Carts are limited to two (2) riders at one time and two (2) carts per group. Spectators must walk at all times.

Prizes/Awards: Merchandise gift certificates redeemable at the host club golf shop will be awarded to the overall gross champions and the top gross champions in each flight.

Player of the Year Points: Statewide and Senior Player of the Year points will be awarded to the top finishers.

Medical Cart: Spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided. For further information and details contact Senior Tournament Director – Chris Untiedt.

Score Posting: The TGA will post all scores for individual stroke play events to players GHIN number. Players are asked to not post scores for individual TGA stroke play events as it will result in a duplicate posting.

Grace Jin wins the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur

BEE CAVE – Grace Jin of Huntsville wins the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur after defeating Emma McMyler 1 UP.

The sun rose on Spanish Oaks Golf Club in Bee Cave for the final match day of the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur. In her first time competing in the championship, Jin won 5 matches on the way to becoming the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur Champion joining an elite list of champions.

BEE CAVE – No. 6 seeded Grace Jin of Huntsville and No. 8 Emma McMyler of San Antonio will face off in the final of the 103rd Women’s Texas Amateur.  

Jin, a rising sophomore at Sam Houston State University would kick off her quarterfinal matchup against No.3 seed Veronika Exposito of The Woodlands. Jin would go 1 UP early and hold that lead in the match going into the back nine. Jin would lose No.10 but gain it right back on No. 11 and No.12. From there, Jin would march herself into the semifinals winning 4&3.
