Gwin and Fullick Repeat South Four-Ball Championship

Briefly: Robert Gwin and Clay Fullick outlasted the Carnes’ Brothers and the rest of the field to claim victory in the 2025 South Four-Ball hosted by Eagle Pointe Golf Club. Starting the round just two strokes up, the duo from Montgomery and Conroe, respectively, were able to keep their lead consistent over the field, specifically the partnership of Casey and Michael Carnes. Gwin and Fullick posted a two-day total of 12-under par 130 after rounds of 67 and 63.

Final Results

Golf Course: Located 30 miles east of downtown Houston, Eagle Pointe Golf Club opened in 1999 and was designed by Rick Forester. Owned by the city of Mont Belvieu, the facility is currently undergoing a three-phase improvement plan. During the first phase of construction the club built two new holes which played as holes 15 and 16 for the tournament. The next two phases of the project will include a new state-of-the-art driving range, and a seven-hole par three course located at the site of the original driving range. The entire project is being led by Finger, Dye, Spann, Inc.

Weather: Players battled through rain and cold weather both days of the 2025 South Four-Ball. Temperatures stayed in the 30’s on round one, and made its way to the low 50’s during the final round. Play was suspended for a couple of hours during round one for lightning and thunderstorms in the area. Play was delayed in the morning of round two due to course conditions, then played without stop until the champion was crowned.

Top Finishers: Gwin and Fullick struck again at this year’s South Four-Ball. The duo started with Fullick carding an eagle on the first and added three more birdies throughout the round. Gwin also managed three birdies, with a clean scorecard in between. The pair carded just three bogeys on the weekend, leading to their second South Four-Ball win in as many years.

Casey and Michael Carnes started the round two strokes back of the leaders. Equaling their total of an 8-under 63 solidified their spot in second place. They finished the 36-hole championship shooting a 69/63 for a 10-under 132. Homan and Bryant finished in third place with a two day total of 7-under for a 135. Fourth place went to Smith and Dennis, who shot a total of 5-under for a 137
