Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational set for October 26-27
ADDISON – The Legends Junior Tour will head to White Bluff Resort’s New Course in Whitney for the sixth Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational. This marks the first time the event has been held at White Bluff Resort.
“We are excited to be heading back to a familiar venue with the Legends Junior Tour,” said Tournament Manager Duffy Suhr. “White Bluff has hosted many events for the LJT, including this year’s Texas Junior Amateur – Boys 15-18 Division. This event is always exciting, with the season winding down and players looking to grab player of the year points heading towards the Jackie Burke Cup in November.”
White Bluff Resort’s New Course is located in Whitney, Texas, just over an hour south of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. The course stretches over 6,980 yards, featuring narrow fairways, towering trees, and water hazards that challenge players to think carefully about each shot. The Boys 15-18 Division will play from a yardage of 6,934 yards for the major championship.
As one of the youngest tournaments on the Legends Junior Tour, the sixth Texas Junior Golf Alliance Invitational is an exemption-based entry event. The 84-player tournament will take place Oct. 26-27 over 36 holes in stroke play format. The tournament is split into three divisions: the Boys 15-18 Division, the Boys 14 and Under Division, and the Girls 12-18 Division.
The fifth Texas Junior Golf Alliance was shortened to an 18-hole tournament due to weather at Sulphur Springs Country Club. Wylie Waldrip of Grapevine won the Boys 15-18 Division with a 4-under 68, finishing one stroke ahead of the field. Henry Jackson of Lantana took the Boys 14 and Under Division after defeating Aadi Parmar of Selma on the third hole of their playoff. Lauren Madson of Mansfield was crowned champion of the Girls 12-18 Division after a 3-over 75, winning by one stroke.
