Murray Appointed Vice Chairman Of USGA Women’s Committee
The United States Golf Association recently announced the appointment of Pam Murray, of Richardson, Texas, to a one-year term as vice chairman of the USGA Women’s Committee in 2015. Stasia Collins, of Baltimore, Md., will serve a one-year term as chairman.
Another notable Texan, Delia Nava of The Woodlands, was one of ten additional members reappointed to one-year terms.
The Women’s Committee advises the Executive Committee in matters relating to women’s golf. Its principal responsibility is to oversee the administration of the women’s and girls’ championships conducted by the USGA.
Murray has been a member of the Women’s Committee since 2011. She is currently chairman of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship, served as chairman of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Committee in 2013-2014 and was vice chairman in 2012. She is also a member of the Course Rating Committee and Handicap Procedures Committee and was a member of the U.S. Women’s Amateur Public Links Committee from 2007-2011. She served as president of the Women’s Texas Golf Association board of directors from 2008-2010 and continues to be a member of the Texas Golf Association Rules Committee.
Murray, a retired educator, earned both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts from the University of North Texas.
