Texas Mid-Amateur Match Play Round of 32 Players is Set
Westlake, Texas – The Mid- Amateur Match Play at Vaquero Club started today with a stroke play qualifying round which shortened the field of 90 players down to 32 players.
Rick Sulzer of Carrollton and Colby Harwell of San Antonio were the co-medalists of the qualifying round finishing tied for first and gained the top two seeds respectively. Sulzer birdied four holes on the front nine along with one bogey to shoot an impressive 33 and shot even par 35 on the back nine to result in the 3- under 68 overall. Harwell, the Mid-Amateur Match Play Champion last year, followed suit in similar fashion with a 33 on the front with three birdies and no bogeys and 35 on the back nine to finish with a 68 3-under total.
The marquee matchup will be the 31st seed, Will Osborne of Fort Worth, the 2017 North Player of the Year against the 2017 State Player of the Year, Colby Harwell, who is the 2 seed.

The Round of 32 is set for tomorrow with tee times starting at 8:00 AM and will be followed by the Round of 16 that begin at 1:00 PM. Round of 8 and 4 will follow on Saturday, and the Championship Match will be on Sunday.
The Vaquero Club opened in 2001 that consists of 525 acres that was developed into a private community, which includes beautiful residential homes, a clubhouse, and the Vaquero Golf Course.
