The Texas Golf Association is pleased to introduce the Gallery Club, a new philanthropic campaign that gives individuals the power to contribute towards building a rich legacy of a vibrant, diverse, and thriving golf culture in Texas for many years to come.
Membership in the Gallery Club is open to everyone who has a desire to give back to the game, including current members, returning members, those new to the TGA, and anyone who just wants to show their support so golf can continue to positively impact the lives of others.
Through your membership in the Gallery Club, you will help the TGA continue to make the sport and its transformative powers more accessible, enjoyable, and inclusive across our state for current and future generations.
Golf has a rich history in Texas, dating back to at least the late 1890s, and perhaps even earlier. Some accounts say Texans were swinging away on makeshift courses laid out on cattle ranches as early as the 1860s. What is certain, though, is the game’s roots run deep in the Lone Star State.
From those early days when there were only about a half dozen courses in the entire state, over the last 120-plus years Texas has evolved into one of golf’s most active regions, and one of the best places in the world to play. Its current powerhouse status is thanks to all the early adopters, forward-thinkers, clubs, courses, organizations, volunteers, legendary champions, and everyday golf enthusiasts that collectively helped to cultivate the game’s popularity in Texas.
We can’t directly thank those responsible for gifting us the varied and golf-rich landscape we have available to us today, but we can carry on their vision by paying it forward. We can take the support and passion for the game from those who came before us and pass it on so that others can enjoy the many wonderful benefits golf has to offer, just as we have been so fortunate to experience. That is, and always has been, the true spirit and tradition of the game, and the driving purpose behind the Gallery Club.
Your $59 annual contribution secures your Gallery Club membership and will enable the TGA to continue to reinvest in golf in Texas with ambitious programs and initiatives that are designed to celebrate, elevate, and encourage golf participation wherever the game is played around the state and at every level, including:
- Expanding Playing Opportunities for Recreational and Competitive Golfers
- Welcoming New Players to the Game
- Advancing Adaptive Golf
- Developing Junior Golf Pathways to Performance
- Supporting Municipal Golf Improvement Projects through Project Muni Grant Program
