The Legends Junior Tour, a division of the Texas Golf Association, is thrilled to announce that Edwin Watts Golf has committed to being the presenting sponsor of the 99th Texas Junior Amateur.
The annual stroke play championship features the state’s most talented juniors competing in four age divisions – Boys 15-18, Girls 15-18, Boys 14 & Under, Girls 14 & Under – and will be played July 28-30 at scenic Horseshoe Bay Resort. The older divisions play 54 holes with a cut after the second round. The 14 & Under divisions play 36 holes to determine their champions.
The additional support from the trusted, nationwide golf retailer comes at an exciting time. The Texas Junior Amateur presented by Edwin Watts Golf is an official USGA exemption event, which carries exemptions for the older divisions into the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur and 2026 U.S. Girls’ Amateur.
The Boys 15-18 division winner will play in the 2026 U.S. Junior Amateur at Saucon Valley Country Club in Bethlehem, Pa. The Girls 15-18 champion earns an exemption into the 2026 U.S. Girls’ Amateur at Old Chatham Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
“The USGA exemptions elevated the championship a great deal when we received them in 2024. Sending two of our champions to the national stage is a big deal,” said Scott Davidson, Director of the Legends Junior Tour. “We expect a similar spike in interest and credibility by bringing on Edwin Watts Golf as our presenting sponsor. Their commitment to junior golf in Texas, combined with the increased stakes for the older Boys and Girls, should make this year’s championship one of the most memorable in years.”
