Bolado & Sirkin Lead After Round 1 of the 18th Women’s Four-Ball

Rising DBU freshmen Presley Bolado of New Braunfels and Chloe Sirkin of Colleyville shoot a 3-under 69 during the first round of the 2025 Texas Women’s Four-Ball to take the lead.

Golf Course: Ridgewood Country Club has hosted some of the TGA’s top tournaments, including the 116th Texas Amateur presented by Hytera US this past June, the 83rd Texas Senior Amateur, and the 94th and 88th Women’s Texas Amateur. The club opened in the fall of 1947 near what is now Lake Waco with an 18-hole course originally designed by Ralph Plummer, another Texas Golf Hall of Famer. He returned to Ridgewood over a decade later to completely redesign the course, which became necessary after government officials finalized plans to expand the lake in the early 1960s. Since then, the course has undergone multiple updates, with the most recent major renovation completed in 2023 under architect Davis. Ridgewood Country Club presents a challenging course set-up that tests even most experienced golfers to their limits.

Weather: Today’s weather for the first round of the 18th Women’s Four-Ball at Ridgewood Country Club hotter-than-normal temperatures ranging with a low of 74 and a high of 96 degrees. The mostly clear skies provided ideal conditions for the players with little to no wind.

Tournament History: The Women’s Four-Ball Championship is in its 18th year on the schedule and is the fourth women’s statewide championship in 2025. The tournament is a 36-hole four-ball stroke play event with teams competing in two separate divisions, the Championship Division and the Flights Division. The ten teams with the lowest combined handicap indexes will be required to play from the championship tees. Those who do not wish to play in the championship division will be placed in the flights division and pre-flighted based on their combined handicap indexes.

The inaugural Women’s Four-Ball was held in 2007 at the Golf Club of Houston, which recently hosted the 101st Women’s Texas Amateur.

What’s Next: The final round of the 18th Women’s Four-Ball tees off tomorrow, Tuesday, July 30th with  a 9:00 a.m. shotgun.

About the TGA: The Texas Golf Association was established in 1906 with a mission to promote the playing and advancement of the royal and ancient game of golf in Texas. The association is one of the most respected in the country with an ongoing commitment to its members, contestants, volunteers and all who strive to preserve the great traditions of the game.
