
Steady Performances and Key Moves Headline Match Day 2 at White Bluff Resort
Briefly: Competition intensified across the flights as Match Day 2 wrapped up at the 26th Women’s Partnership Match Play. With just one round to go, duos are gearing up for a final push on the last day, all aiming to claim the coveted title of champion in each team’s respective flight.
In Flight One, Camm Dougherty of Corpus Christi and Leslie McCallick of Horseshoe Bay held their ground atop a competitive field, setting the stage for a final push in Wednesday’s closing match. The duo opened strong with 12 points in Match Three—just one shy of their best from Monday—then added 8 more in Match Four to stay in front. With the title within reach, they’ll look to close it out in tomorrow’s finale.
Flight Two delivered plenty of intrigue as Julia Sedate of Dallas and Marna Raburn of Addison ended the day tied with Lisa Papes of Allen and Sarah Farmer of Arlington with 44 points after strong showings from both teams. Sedate and Raburn, who entered the day with the lead, scored 11 points in Match One and added seven more in Match Four to hold their position. But Papes and Farmer came charging. Trailing by four points to start the day, the duo surged with back-to-back 11-point performances in Matches Three and Four to catch the leaders and share the top spot heading into the final round.
Claudia Willis and Dianne Dillard of Bryan stayed hot in Flight Three, extending the duo’s lead with another solid day of play. The pair entered Tuesday with a four-point advantage and added 10 points in Match Three to stay in front heading into the afternoon. Willis and Dillard followed up with nine more points in Match Four, stretching the lead to four heading into the final day, though a tightly packed field remains within striking distance.
Flight Four remained a tight contest, but Elise Storaune and Kerry Carter-Taylor made a big move to the top. Starting the day tied for fourth in a crowded leaderboard, the duo came out firing with 10 points in Match Three. They kept the momentum going with a dominant 13-point performance in Match Four, vaulting into a narrow lead. With the field still close, Flight Four is set for a dramatic finish on the final day.
Grace Ferguson of Spring Branch and Veronica Fair of Odem wrapped up an exciting day in Flight Five by holding onto their lead. The duo began with just a one-point advantage but came out strong, posting 12 points in Match Three—tying the flight’s highest score for that round. The pair followed it up with a dominant 14-point showing in Match Four, boosting the team’s total to 44 points and building a six-point cushion heading into the final match.
The total points allocated across all the flights on Match Day 2 were 526 points, totaling to 1040 points for the tournament. The course rating for this is 72.7, with the slope being 136.

Golf Course: White Bluff Resort’s New Course, located just a few miles from Lake Whitney in Whitney, Texas, was designed by Bruce Lietzke and opened in 1998. The New Course stretches more than 100 yards longer than the resort’s Old Course and, with a slope rating of 147 and a course rating of 75.5, is considered the more challenging of the two layouts. For Monday’s Matches One and Two, the course played at a total yardage of 5,280 yards.
Weather: Tuesday kicked off with temperatures in the low 70s and a light breeze, creating near-perfect conditions for players early in the day. By midday, the mercury climbed into the high 70s as winds strengthened to 10-13 mph. As Match Four wrapped up, temperatures peaked in the low 80s, with winds reaching 17 mph and gusts topping out at 20-23 mph.
