Entries Open/Close: Invitation Only
Entry Fee: $200
Field Size/Team Selection:Each team will be comprised of 12 players representing the North and South Regions.
Of the eight (8) mid-amateurs chosen from each region, four (4) have been selected from the TGA Statewide Player of the Year point standings, and four (4) have been selected from the TGA Regional Player of the Year point standings.
The four (4) senior players were selected based on the TGA Senior Player of the Year points standings through the current year’s Texas Senior Amateur Championship. The four (4) highest ranked players from each region (North/South) regardless of their overall position on the points list were selected.
Championship Information
Format/Scoring: Two days of match play consisting of Foursome and Four-Ball on day one and Singles on day two. Each match is worth 3 points, 1 point for front nine, 1 point for back nine and 1 point for overall winner of the match. In the case of a tie, each side will receive a half point. The first team to accumulate 36 _ points will win the Shootout. If, at the conclusion of the scheduled matches there is a tie for the overall team championship, the prior years winning team will retain the trophy.
Whats Included: The championship entry fee includes greens, cart and range fees for all championship rounds including the championship practice round. The entry fee also includes championship gifts, lunch during all competitive rounds, and food/beverage during the Player Reception and Player Dinner.
Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round on November 1, 2024 only.
Registration Information: Player registration will be held on November 1, 2024. Players that are unable to register should contact the TGA Staff Contact directly.
Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting times/pairings for each set of matches will take place the evening before at the Player Reception and Player Dinner.
Caddies: Caddies are not permitted. Rule 10.3a is modified in this way: A player must not have a caddie during the round.
Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Players needing to withdraw should contact the TGA Staff Contact directly.
Transportation: Players may walk or ride at their own discretion. Cart fees are included in the players entry fee. Spectators must walk at all times.
Medical Carts/TGA Medical Cart Request Policy: Spectator Carts are prohibited. Spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. Score Posting: The TGA will not be posting match scores to GHIN.
