Prucka & Wilson Lead After Rainy First Round of Texas Stableford Handicap
KERRVILLE – Lee Prucka of Midland and Gary Wilson of Odessa have the lead after the first round of play at the 2022 Texas Stableford Handicap at Riverhill Country Club. Prucka and Wilson carded 68 points, 5 over their first round quota.
Combined, the duo holed 6 birdies and 17 pars, placing them at the top of field, along with the Nelson flight, before Saturday’s second round.

Golf Course: Designed by close friends Joe Finger and Byron Nelson in 1974, Riverhill Country Club’s 18-hole course is a premier location for golf in Texas and the United States. Based in the heart of Hill Country, the course boasts its rare bent-grass greens and a 7,137 yard, 72-par challenge featuring scenic creeks, hills and a lake throughout the property. Over time, the course became Nelson’s favorite, where he was quoted saying, “If I had only one golf course to play, it would be Riverhill.”
Weather: Cold and rainy with an hour-and-a-half weather delay due to lightning, beginning at 12:15 PM.
In Contention: Following the leaders are Travis Yarbrough of Crowley and David Bosco of Copper Canyon. The pair carded 42 points, 4 under their first-round quota. Yarbrough and Bosco lead the Kite flight.
In the Hogan flight, Mark Jones and Luke Groves of Odessa finished the round with 64 points, 6 under first round quota.
Denny Wood and Richard Hare, of Montgomery, lead the Crenshaw flight after a first round 7 under quota 51.
What’s Next: Round 2 tee times begin Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. off No. 1 & 10 tees at Riverhill Country Club.
