McMyler wins the 10th Women’s Stroke Play
THE WOODLANDS- Emma McMyler of San Antonio is your new champion of the 10th Women’s Stroke Play.
“Yeah, I played really good golf today, On the first hole, I made a 10-footer for par…made three birdies in a row, on two three and four,” McMyler said.
She then reflected on her experience over the last three days.
“Overall, really solid tournament happy with my play, hit the ball really well all week,” McMyler said. “Was able to get the putter going on the last two rounds…put in some work on the practice putting green and it paid off.”
McMyler showed her consistency going 5-under 67 again, for a total of 207 after the final round. She made six birdies and 11 pars on her round.
The Duke and Xavier graduate adds another victory under her belt.
Coming in second was Austin’s own Bentley Cotton going 5-under 67 for a total of 212. In third was Maye Huang from Katy shooting 3-over par 75.
For the Low Mid-Amateur Championship Division, the winner was Stephanie Hurlbert from the Woodlands shooting a 79 for a total of 233.
Moving on to our Flight Divisions, for Flight One the winner was San Antonio’s own Claudia Ramirez going 3-over par 75. Ramirez made two birdies and 14 pars.
Cindy Gilkeson took the victory in Flight Two shooting an 82 for a total of 249 after the final round, Gilkeson made nine pars.
The Woodlands own Lorraine Werner was victorious in Flight Three with a score of 93, for a total of 285. Her round consisted of four pars.
The Championship Division was contested at 6,260 yards the Flight Division was held at 5,388 yards.
The next TGA event for women’s is the Texas Adaptive Golf Championship starting on October 7th-9th,, hosted by the Indian Creek Colf Club.
After that is the 35th Women’s Senior Stroke Play on October 14th-16th, hosted by Walden on Lake Mongomery
