Lohner’s 67 Leads North Mid-Amateur

FORT WORTH – Southlake’s Mike Lohner leads the North Mid-Amateur after firing a 5-under 67 in the first round Friday afternoon at Waterchase Golf Club. There are several players near the top of the leaderboard, including 16 that shot under-par in the first round.

First Round Results
 
Golf Course: Located in Fort Worth, Waterchase Golf Club challenges even the best players, meandering around and through creeks. The course features tree-lined fairways and water-lined fairways that require precision off the tee. Strategically placed penalty areas and bunkers require players to think their way around the course. Waterchase Golf Club is playing 6,909 yards for all players.
 
First Round Wrap Up: Lohner leads by one shot heading into the second round. Lohner started off with a bogey on the first hole, but carded three birdies on his front nine. He carded four more coming home against only one bogey. Frisco’s Mike Louden, Fort Worth’s Colby Amparan and Fort Worth’s Jeff Murray sit in second place after both carding 4-under 68s Saturday afternoon. Josh Irving of Dallas and Kevin Doskocil of Benbrook are tied for fifth at 3-under.
 
Weather: The temperature reached upwards of 75 degrees with a slight breeze out of the Southeast.
