Lamey and Cunov Hold Lead Following Round 2 of Texas Stableford Handicap
KERRVILLE – John Lamey of San Antonio and Kurt Cunov of Shavano Park hold their lead after the second round of play at the 2020 Texas Stableford Handicap at Riverhill Country Club. Lamey and Cunov carded 74 points, one under their second round quota and a total of seven over their total quota.
Combined, the duo holed 6 birdies and 22 par-saves, placing them at the top of both the overall field and the Hogan flight by five points.

Golf Course: Designed by close friends Joe Finger and Byron Nelson in 1974, Riverhill Country Club’s 18-hole course is a premier location for golf in Texas and the United States. Based in the heart of Hill Country, the course boasts its rare bent-grass greens and a 7,137 yard, 72-par challenge featuring scenic creeks, hills and a lake throughout the property. Over time, the course became Nelson’s favorite, where he was quoted saying, “If I had only one golf course to play, it would be Riverhill.”
Weather: Sunny, high of 75 degrees with a southerly wind that averaged at 9 mph.
In Contention: Following the leaders are Dee Johnston and Kenneth Leasley of North Richland Hills. The men carded 81 points, six over their second round quota. The duo now sits at two points above their quota following two rounds of play. They trail the leaders by five points for the overall championship and by the same margin in the Hogan flight.
In the Nelson flight, Zac Hoerster of Fredericksburg and Adam Hansen of Irving sit at five points under their quota and lead by a tight half point margin over the first round flight leaders Trey Rowe and Randy Mattingley.
In the Crenshaw flight, Mark Moore and Michael Mowles of Fort Worth maintained their flight lead and sit at two and a half points under their cumulative quota. They lead by five and a half points thanks to their steady play.
In the Kite flight, Cody Davis of Kingwood and Jeff Stockman of Houston jumped into the lead and sit at ten and a half points under their cumulative quota and hold a three and a half point lead.
What’s Next: Final Round tee times begin Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m. off No. 1 & 10 tees at Riverhill Country Club.
