Entry & Eligibility Information

Entries Open: Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 9:00 AM
Entries Close: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at 5:00 PM
Entry Fee: $300

Eligibility: Players must have a current membership with a member of the Texas Junior Golf Alliance. Players can renew or sign up with the Northern Texas PGA or the Southern Texas PGA membership to be eligible.

Entry Procedure: Players will be added to the field according to the Exemption Based Entry procedures immediately following the close of registration. For more information on the exemption based entry procedures, please check the LJT Eligibility & Entry procedures here.

Championship Information

Format/Field Size: Play will be contested over 36 holes of individual stroke play with no cut. The field is limited to 132 players

Divisions: Boys, Girls, Boys 14 & Under

Practice Round Information: The official practice round date is Friday, May 1. Players may begin contacting the club beginning Friday, April 25 to schedule a practice round. Practice round fees are $25 walking.

Tournament Qualifying

Players competing in the Bluebonnet Championship will be automatically entered into a qualifier for the Uswing Mojing Junior World Golf Championships being played in San Diego on July 7-9. Eligible divisions for the tournament are Boys 15-18, Boys 13-14, Boys 11-12, Girls 15-18, Girls 13-14, and Girls 11-12. For tournament information, click here.

The Girls 12-18 Division champion and POY Points leader following the Bluebonnet Championship will be awarded an exemption into the Texas Women’s Open.

Starting Times/Pairings Information

Starting times/pairings for the first round will be made no later than Wednesday, April 30. Pairings will be listed online on the tournament homepage at TXGA.org. Final round starting times/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play online at TXGA.org.

Caddies

Caddies are NOT permitted for the championship. Rule 10.3a will be modified in this way: A player must not have a caddie during a round.

Rules of Golf

The Championship will be contested under the 2023 Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association and R&A, its interpretations and clarifications, 2026 Legends Junior Tour Local Rules and Terms of Competition. For more information on rules, visit the USGA Rules of Golf Hub.
