Big Impact. Bold Advocacy. Texas-Sized Support for the Game We Love.
Golf isn’t just a game. In Texas, it’s an economic powerhouse.
“In 2023, golf in Texas generated a direct economic impact of $7.7 billion — fueling a total output of $14.2 billion.”
– Texas Golf Economic Impact Report, April 2025
As a proud member of the Texas Association of Recreational Organizations (TARO), the TGA is front and center in statewide advocacy efforts that support golf courses, clubs, superintendents, and players like you. And as a Gallery Club member, you’re right there with us.
Texas Golf Day – May 6
To celebrate and elevate the game, TARO – with support from the
TGA – helped organize Texas Golf Day at the State Capitol.
We presented the full Economic Impact Report to every member of the Texas Legislature, and hosted a reception connecting lawmakers with golf leaders from across the state. Appearances from Ben Crenshaw, Sandra Haynie, Angela Stanford, and Fred Perpall allowed us a unique opportunity to showcase the strength and diversity of our industry.
Smart Stewardship
The TGA also co-sponsored the creation of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Texas Best Management Practices — trusted guidelines promoting environmental responsibility and course sustainability.
