ADDISON – The 17th edition of the Women’s Four-Ball will make its debut at Oakmont Country Club in Corinth, marking the first time the tournament has been hosted at this venue. Scheduled for July 29-30, the event promises excitement and competitive play.
“We are thrilled to bring this tournament to such a prestigious club,” said Tournament Manager Duffy Suhr. “The Women’s Four-Ball is always a highlight for participants, and Oakmont Country Club will surely showcase top-tier golf this year.”
The tournament will feature 36 holes played in a Four-Ball stroke play format, divided into two divisions. The Championship division will include the top 10 teams with the lowest combined handicap indexes, competing from the Championship tees. Teams not in the Championship Division will be pre-flighted into the Flight Division based on their combined handicap indexes.
“Four-Ball is a dynamic format that challenges players to strategize with their partners on each hole,” said Women’s Tournament Director Kristi Knight, an accomplished golfer herself. “It’s engaging to see teams switch between aggressive and conservative play styles.”
Oakmont Country Club, located in Corinth, 35 miles northwest of Dallas, is known for its tree-lined fairways that demand precision from golfers. Designed by Don January and Roger Packard, the course opened in 1986, spanning just over 6,790 yards with champion Bermuda grass and thick rough that test shot-making skills.
In 2023, the Women’s Four-Ball at Fair Oaks Ranch Golf & Country Club saw Emily Ritchie of Boerne and Delaney Martin of Fair Oaks Ranch clinch the title, marking their first victory with the claret jug trophies. T
The First Round of the Women’s Four-Ball will tee off on July 29 at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start.
