Briefly: Preston Chabaud of Katy cards a final round 71 to win the Boys 15-18 Division. Chaubaud finished the tournament at even par 144 after rounds of 73-71. Sydney Givens of Austin managed to hold on to her first day lead to win the Girls 12-18 Division by surviving a 3-hole, 3-player playoff. She finished the tournament with a total of 8-over par, 152. Adrian Bowers of Pearland came out on top in the Boys 14 & Under Division. Bowers, the first-round leader, finished at 1-over par 145 for a 4-stroke win in the division.
In Contention: Starting the day 2 strokes back, Preston Chabaud gutted out the round of the day to win his first LJT event. Nicholas Norris of Dallas finished only 1 shot back at 1 over par for a total of 145 to take runner-up honors in the Flodder Financial Shootout for the second year in a row. Meadville’s Jackson Sledzic finished at 2-over, giving him a total of 146 for the event. Rounding out the top 5 were Austin’s Whit Bartlett and Allen’s Elijah Estonilo both finishing the tournament at 3-over (147).
In the boys 14 and under division, first round leader Adrian Bowers led throughout the day stretching his lead over runner up Lincoln Rubis from Farmers Branch. Lincoln, a 2030 grad playing in his first LJT event held his own, but his 5-over par total fell a few shots short. Trenton Tiner of Pearland finished in third place with a 12-over par (156).
In the Girls 12-18 Division, first round leader Sydney Givens fought off a charge from Austin’s Ava Osbourne and Kingsbury’s Camilla Porras. All three players found themselves tied at 8-over par 152 after regulation. Porras started the day 7 shots behind but rallied with a 1-under par 71 while Osbourne and Givens battled shot for shot in the final group. Givens birdie on the third playoff hole, the tough par 4 18th hole at The Club at Falcon Point was just what she needed to secure yet another LJT title.
In addition to the overall champions, the low final round score was also recognized in each division. These players were recognized by the Flodder Financial Group for their commitment to finishing the tournament strong. Nicholas Norris was recognized in the Boys 15-18 Division with a final round 71, Lincoln Rubis was recognized in the Boys 14 & Under Division with a final round 76, and Camilla Porras was recognized in the Girls 12-18 Division with a final round 71.
Golf Course: The Club at Falcon Point is hosting the Flodder Financial Shootout for the seventh straight year. Designed by Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge, the golf course features 18 championship holes forcing players to hit a variety of shots. The course is playing just over 6,600 yards in both the Boys 15-18 Division and the Boys 14 & Under Division and a little less than 6,000 yards in the Girls 12-18 Division.

Tournament Format: The Flodder Financial Shootout is a 36-hole stroke play event for players ages 12-19 that have a valid membership with a member of the Texas Junior Golf Alliance.
Weather: Players battled high humidity and wind throughout the day. Temperatures for the day peaked out at 90 degrees with a little cloud cover and variable winds that gusted up to 20 mph at times.
What’s at Stake: The top half of each division field will be awarded points towards the LJT Player of the Year Standings. The tournament is ranked by Golfweek and Junior Golf Scoreboard. Multiple Tournament Exemptions not future Championships will also be awarded to top finishers in each division.
Player of the Year Points: Adrian Bowers, Preston Chaubaud, and Sydney Givens all earned 1000 points in the Player of the Year Point Race. Points are awarded at each tournament to the top half of each age division. Player of the Year Standing can be viewed here.
