TGA Says “Take Your Shot” at a Million Dollars
Don’t miss your shot at one million dollars, along with heaps of other amazing prizes up for grabs at the TGA’s inaugural “Take Your Shot Challenge” contested on Oct. 4 at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas. The charitable event amounts to a nine-hole “Closest to the Hole” contest, in which participants get nine chances to make an ace. The nine players who either make a hole-in-one or finish closest to the hole then advance to the grand finale, a 10th hole and will take their shot at $1 Million.
Anyone who makes a hole-in-one in the first nine holes will win a prize valued between $5,000-$50,000. Each Closest-to-the-Hole winner scores an exciting prize. If no one makes an ace on the $1 Million shot, the player whose ball finishes closest to the hole will take home another enticing grand prize.
You get the idea? There are going to be tons of prizes!
So get your favorite outfit ready, energize your good-luck charm, don’t walk under any ladders or, better still, work on your scoring range clubs, because you’ll want to be ready this fall for this exciting event and a chance to dunk one and strike it rich.
The Oct. 4 Take Your Shot Challenge will be held on Trinity Forest GC’s nine-hole, par-3 course known as the Horse Course. Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, who also designed Trinity Forest’s big course to be the new home of the PGA Tour’s AT&T Byron Nelson, took great care to imbue the Horse Course with the same links-like canvas and playability features as what the pros play. Exceptionally maintained, the holes on the short course range in length from 74-160 yards. Designed with fun in mind, the Horse Course is a lively adventure for players of all skill levels.
The field for the Take Your Shot Challenge will be limited to 90 players. Anyone from beginners to scratch golfers can sign up here while space is available.
All proceeds from the event benefit the TGA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to ensuring that the game of golf grows and prospers. It achieves this mission through the financial and administrative support of existing grass-roots junior golf development programs and in creating new avenues for deserving and underserved youth to learn some of life’s most important lessons through their exposure to the game of golf.
