Entry & Eligibility Information
Entries Open/Close: Invitation Only
Entry Fee: $200
Field Size/Team Selection: Each team will be comprised of 12 players representing the North and South Regions.
Of the eight (8) mid-amateurs chosen from each region, four (4) have been selected from the TGA Statewide Player of the Year point standings, and four (4) have been selected from the TGA Regional Player of the Year point standings.
The four (4) senior players were selected based on the TGA Senior Player of the Year points standings through the current year’s Texas Senior Amateur Championship. The four (4) highest ranked players from each region (North/South) regardless of their overall position on the points list were selected.

Championship Information
Format/Scoring: Two days of match play consisting of Foursome and Four-Ball on day one and Singles on day two. Each match is worth 3 points, 1 point for front nine, 1 point for back nine and 1 point for overall winner of the match. In the case of a tie, each side will receive a half point. The first team to accumulate 36.5 points will win the Shootout. If, at the conclusion of the scheduled matches there is a tie for the overall team championship, the prior years winning team will retain the trophy.
Whats Included: The championship entry fee includes greens, cart and range fees for all championship rounds including the championship practice round. The entry fee also includes championship gifts, lunch during all competitive rounds, and food/beverage during the Player Reception and Player Dinner.
Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round on Friday, November 7, 2025 only. The TGA will assign practice round tee times. Players do not need to contact the host club.
Registration Information: Player registration will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025. Players that are unable to register must contactact the TGA Staff Contact directly.
Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting times/pairings for each set of matches will take place the evening before at the Player Reception and Player Dinner. After the matches have been set they will be available to view online at www.txga.org.
Caddies: Caddies are not permitted. Rule 10.3a is modified in this way: A player must not have a caddie during the round.
Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Players needing to withdraw should contact the TGA Staff Contact directly.
Transportation: Players may walk or ride at their own discretion. Cart fees are included in the players entry fee. Spectators must walk at all times.
Medical Cart: Spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided. For further information and details contact Chris Untiedt, Senior Tournament Director.
Score Posting: The TGA will not post scores for match play events. Players can post their own scores using the course rating/slope provided in the Player Information Packet.

North Team Defends Texas Shootout Title
Briefly: The North Team defends the Texas Shootout Title after a successful day of single matches. A great two days played by North Team players helped launch the North Team to a great start and eventually defended their title by Match 21 of the event. North Team captain Neal Barfield of Dallas performance was a highlighted performance that helped lead his team to victory at Denton Country Club on Sunday.

North Team Leads 22nd Texas Shootout
Saturday Foursome Matches: Foursome matches kicked off with the North Team taking an early lead. The South Team refused to back down, climbing back from a leaderboard dominated by blue scores from the North. The final matches of the day provided motivation for the back nine, with the North Team leading 10-8 at the conclusion of Foursomes.
