Entry & Eligibility Information
Entries Open: Wednesday, February 12, 2025 at 9:00 AM
Exempt Entry Deadline: Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Entries Close: Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 5:00 PM
Entry Fee: $500
Eligibility: Entries are open to male amateur golfers residing in Texas, age 65 or older, with a WHS Handicap Index of 12.4 or less. For Legends Division: Golfers age 75 or older with a Handicap Index of 16.4 or less. Please reference TGA Men’s Competition Policies for further details, including Policies and Procedures, and Terms of Competition.
Entry Procedure: The field will be established in the order in which entries are received with a priority for exempt players until the published exemption deadline of March 5, 2025 at 5:00 PM. Once the exemption deadline has passed, and if the field is not full, the TGA will fill the remaining spots in the field with waitlisted entries. These entries will be accepted into the field in the order in which they were received.

b) Last five (5) Texas Super Senior Amateur Champions
c) Last two (2) Legends Division Champions of the Texas Super Senior Amateur
d) Top 15 finishers and ties in previous year’s Texas Senior Amateur
e) Top 15 finishers and ties in previous year’s Texas Super Senior Amateur
f) Top three (3) finishers and ties in the Legends Division of the previous year’s Texas Super Senior Amateur
g) Any player that qualified for the previous year’s U.S. Senior Open
h) Any player that advanced to Match Play in the previous year’s U.S. Senior Amateur
i) Top five (5) finishers and ties in the Super Senior Division of the previous year’s West Texas Amateur
j) Top ten (10) finishers and ties in the Super Senior Division of the previous year’s Regional Senior Amateurs
k) Last three (3) Texas Senior Player of the Year recipients
l) Top three (3) finishers and ties in the previous year’s Texas Super Senior Player of the Year
m) Three (3) host club exemptions
The TGA reserves the right to select players to be in the field. For exemption request details, please view TGA Men’s Competition Policies. Exempt players must enter by the published deadline or they will lose their exempt status and spot in the final field.
Championship Information
Format/Field Size: Play will be contested of 54 holes of individual stroke play with no cut. The field is limited to 84 players (60 Super Senior and 24 Legends).
Division: The field will be split up into two divisions; Super Senior (age of 65 or older as of the tournament start date) and Legends (age of 75 or older as of the tournament start date). Each Division will play from a different tee/yardage with a seperate champion being crowned in each division. Legends must declare on application if they wish to compete in the Super Senior Division.
Net Recognition: In addition to the overall gross champions in both the Super Senior and Legends Division, a low Net Champion will be recognized. There is no additional charge or registration needed to compete in the Net portion of the championship.
Handicap Procedures for Net Competitions: Net scoring for all the championship rounds will be based on the players current handicap index at the close of entries (April, 9, 2025). Players current handicap index will be adjusted based on 80% of the course rating/slope and tees being played.
Player Registration: Official tournament registration will be held at Live Oak Golf Club on Monday, April 21. Competitors who are unable to register on the date and time listed above must contact Chris Untiedt, Senior Tournament Director at chris@txga.org in advance of the championship.
Practice Round Information: Each player is allowed one (1) complimentary practice round on Monday, April 21, only. Players must contact the host club directly to schedule a practice round AFTER Monday, April 14, 2025 by calling (512) 261-7200.
Approximate Yardage: The Super Senior Divison will play approximately 6,300 yards. The Legends Division will play approximately 5,900 yards. Note: Player information packet will include hole-by-hole approximate yardages.
Starting Times/Pairings Information: Starting times/pairings for the first and second rounds will be made no later than Thursday, April 17, 2025 online at www.txga.org. Final Round times/pairings will be available in the evening preceding play (approximately one hour after the completion of play) online at www.txga.org. Final round starting times/pairings will be re-drawn based on total score following the previous rounds of play.
Caddies: Caddies are permitted and must adhere to all TGA Men’s Competition Policies and host club policies.
Cancellation/Withdrawal Procedure: Prior to the entry deadline players looking to withdraw should do so online through their Golf Genius user profile or by contacting the TGA Staff Contact directly. After the entry deadline has passed players should either call the Texas Golf Association at (214) 468-8942 or email the TGA Staff Contact directly. Only withdrawals on the day of the competition should be directed to the host club golf shop.
Transportation: Players may walk or ride at their own discretion. Cart fees are included in the players entry fee. The TGA ‘One-Seat’ Policy is in effect. Spectators must walk at all times.
Medical Carts: Spectators in accordance of ADA compliance may request golf carts. Requests for golf carts must be supported by complete documentation, including the fully-completed Cart Request Form and the required accompanying medical documentation specified in that form for all first-time requests. Any medical cart request that is granted by the TGA will be good for that individual for the remainder of that calendar season. A request will not be deemed complete until all required information and documentation has been provided. For further information and details contact Chris Untiedt, Senior Tournament Director.
Score Posting: The TGA will post all scores for individual stroke play events to players GHIN number. Players are asked to not post scores for individual TGA stroke play events as it will result in a duplicate posting.
